After the Civil War, many redeemed abducted children who had nowhere to go returned to this area of Akuak Rak. CRM set up an orphanage and school in Akuak Rak in Western Aweil, South Sudan. The direct involvement of our partner organizations such as Answering the Call, First Baptist Church Pensacola, Connecting Lives International Mission, and other independent donors like Mama Cathy Hammond, President and Chief Executive Officer of Inland Marine Serve, made it possible to build elementary and middle school, a girls dormitory home, clinic, and teachers administration block among others.
Today, the school educates and hosts over 350 children and continues to expand.
